- Give some cues related to some popular celebrations. Our students’ description should include the following main points:
name of the celebration
time of the celebration
purpose of the celebration
main activities of the celebration
his / her feeling about the celebration
- Have students do the writing.
- Listen carefully.
- Take notes.
- Do the writing.
Post-Writing
(15’)
- Have the representatives of two groups to write their description on the blackboard.
- Give remarks and correct mistakes.
- Write the descriptions on the board.

Describing a celebration: Teachers’ Day
Every year, on November 20th, all schools throughout our country celebrate Teachers’ Day. It is a good time for students to show their love, respect and gratitude towards their teachers. On the morning of November 20th, all students are at school to attend the celebration and enjoy the music show played by our school band and other students. After that we give our teachers beautiful flowers, cards and best wishes. We also pay a visit to our former teachers in the afternoon.
I enjoy Teachers’ Day because it is on that day that we can show our gratitude towards our teachers.
- Listen and take notes.
* HOMEWORK :
- Students reread carefully the description, practice rewriting it.
- Prepare Part E – Language Focus.

1. Warm up
-Ask students to read the dialogue in the textbook (p.97)
2. Practice
-have the students listen and repeat the words provided.
B. Grammar. Pronoun ONE(S)
Pronoun ONE(S) is used to avoid repeating a noun when you are referring to sb/sth that has already mentioned.
Example:
+Which pen would you prefer, the blue or the red one?
+These cases are heavy. Those ones are light.
SOMEONE, NO ONE, ANYONE and EVERYONE are used with singular verbs.
+SOMEONE and EVERYONE are used in affirmative sentences.
+ANYONE is used in interrogative sentences.
+with NO ONE, the verb is in affirmative.
Example:
+Look! Someone is knocking at the door.
+Everyone speaks English in this class.
+Is there anyone at home?
+There isn’t anyone at home.
+There’s no one at home.
